The Lackawanna County Coal Mine Tour offers history buffs an upclose look at Anthracite Coal Mine, one of the most famous of its kind in the country. Tours actually descend into the caves, via a custom mine car, dropping participants off for a walking adventure 300 feet beneath the earth. The tours occur in the downtown area, near the eastern corner of Steamtown National Historic Site.
Tours operate daily, 10:00 a.m. - 4:20 p.m.
