The Scranton Iron Furnaces present the remains of one of the primary production facilities used by the Lackawanna Iron & Coal Company, the second largest iron producer in the country in the late 1800s. A fixture of the Anthracite Museum Complex, the Furnaces can be walked through and observed at the visitor's leisure, and lie in a scenic and pleasant park setting. They reside in the heart of town, near the Steamtown National Historic Site.
